This is a great school. I am a proud graduate. Nursing is hard. When dealing with lives you have to be about to critically think. Nursing is not for everyone. Please don't allow people that were not successful and giving low marks to discourage you.

As a PVAMU Alumna, it saddens me to say PV has the WORST nursing program ever.The things the administration puts the nursing students through is so disheartening. This nursing school has gotten in trouble so many times due to student’s complaints.No real changes has been made despite the student’s petitioning every year. Attending this school will take away your passion for nursing.The administration will go through so many loop holes to see you not succeed. If you don’t want to deal with unnecessary headaches and stress, please look into attending another nursing school.

I’ve heard many stories from several students about the truth of this program and it’s really sad. They maltreat students & intentionally set them up for failure. I would advise anyone attempting to start nursing school to consider all other schools before this one. A school is meant to empower its students & want the best for them.. unfortunately that is not PVAMU.

This school’s nursing program sets students up to fail. They do not have the best interest of nursing students here at all, it’s like they do everything in their power for people to not make it out of the school with a degree. I would never recommend this school to anyone and it’s so sad because it’s an HBCU. If you want to leave your nursing school with a degree and none of your hard work to be in vain do not come here

I have heard so much about PV nursing program and it is such a shame that in the end the cons outweigh the pro. Imagine staying up all night, spending hours studying, the money spent for classes, books, computers just to take an exam and still be considered as failing. Nurses are one of the BiGGEST & most respected occupations in the world. Instead of building up your future nurses for generations, you guys as a school are crushing dreams and destroying hopes in the process. Let’s do better please!

I wish I can give this school 0 stars! This school is designed for students to fail. They absolutely do NOT care about the success of their students. I will never ever recommend anyone to go here! Run away while you can!

Its sad that an institution cares more about how their test scores rank VS actually helping a student succeed in their career path…. Do NOT attend here for nursing school, it is not worth your time or the emotional damage

Teachers are great for the most part but the way the program is run with scheduling and administration is simply horrible. They school will change class times and/or days entirely, the week before classes start. This is also done with clinicals. Extreme inconvenience, if you have a job and/or children I for sure wouldn't waste my time with this place. If your require financal aid you have to drive all the way out to the main campus which is at least 60 miles away from Houston because no one will ever answer your phone calls or return voicemails. This is by no way an exaggeration. Students are also required to attend some events at the main campus. On your fee bill you will also be charged fees on facilities at the main campus that you will never ever use due to distance.
