Dr. Mei-Dan is a compassionate doctor. He is knowledgeable, skillful, and attentive. Having had many terrible experiences in the field of medicine, I am pleasantly surprised by his care. I find that, despite my racial/cultural background, he has treated me with dignity and respect—this is refreshing. Further, in general, the care I have received at CU Sports Medicine has been wonderful. My physical therapist is excellent, caring, understanding, and she listens. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. Xray techs are always wonderful. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Derek Stokes was 10/10. Smart, informative, empathetic, attentive and communicative about next steps. Would definitely recommend. He was honest about the efficacy of potential treatment options for my diagnosis. Great experience, overall.

Was recommended to go here for PT on my knee by colleagues on my same insurance, but it seems impossible to get into. They require a referral, so I went to my PCP and got one. They were impossible to get on the phone, I called them at so many times of day and different days and it ALWAYS went to voicemail, if it didn't make me wait on hold for 10 minutes before finally hanging up. Before I was able to contact anyone, I actually broke my ankle on the opposite leg. I was told by a doctor somewhere else that I needed surgery, so thought I'd double check with CU Sports Medicine for a second opinion. I did manage to get someone on the phone and book a second opinion for a MONTH later, which was past when my surgery would have to be, so I gave up. Now, 6 months later, I'm back to walking, so I tried to follow up on the referral for the knee, which still has issues. I called on Friday at 4 pm, went to voicemail because it was "after business hours" (incorrect). Someone called me back Tuesday morning (fair, Monday was labor day) and said I didn't say I wanted PT in my message and I had reached the doctor line () so she forwarded my call to the PT line. Which went to voicemail. Again. Finally got a follow up call today (Wednesday) but I missed it, so they left me a voicemail which said they're not taking new patients now LOL. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. I didn't even mind that I couldn't get through to them yesterday - if this is such a song and dance I'm just going to go elsewhere. Ridiculous.

Looks like 1 star reviews seem to be the trend here. CU sports medicine and performance should be embarrassed by their level of care and associated costs. Granted its not entirely their fault as the entire system is a massive racket. I saw Dr Bravman for shoulder pain and after a 10 minute conversation where 5 students attended and gawked at me, he ordered an MRI. I came back to the room to chat with him and HE WAS GONE. One follow up appointment later that featured a cortison shot that hasnt worked and BAM $1,700 bill. $600 for an office visit with the honorable Bravman. I am soooo grateful to be around someone who charges $660 for 10 minutes though. What a blessing, it was so memorable. I'll never forget it. That guy/ hospital makes $3,960 per hour. I called to discuss my bill and they said there is nothing they can do at all. ZERO regard for the patient. NEVER AGAIN

I did not have a good experience at this clinic. Dr. Arends saw me for maybe 30 seconds before ordering an x-ray of my shoulder. Then he never came back in to talk to me about it like he said he would. The nurse seemed to only know my condition minimally and kept having to leave the tx room to het my questions answered. Then, while still being in excruciating pain, she sent me on my way without any pain tx saying that the MRI the doctor ordered should get to Health Images in Longmont in a few hours. They still haven’t received it and it’s Monday and I’ve even called back to request the order be sent asap but no luck yet. No one was outright rude or anything just complacent and seemingly uncaring about my condition. I desperately need my MRI for my specialist appt tomorrow, but that doesn’t seem to matter to anyone at this office. Will never go here again.

Excellent care from beginning to end. I also appreciated that they took my insurance which other orthopedic providers would not do.

I’ve never had a worse experience at a medical facility in my life. Dr. Mei-Dan came in didn’t greet me, wrenched me around and popped my displaced hips in and out even when i was screaming and curling in pain, didn’t show any emotion or care at all. I wouldn’t let that man touch me with a 100 ft pole, world rebound or not. His cold demeanor and disturbingly callus view on human life cemented my decision that I would much rather have someone that cares. The only people who didn’t treat me completely inferior were the front desk lady, x-ray lady, and Christopher P, and the MA that brought me back

I would go elsewhere for your sports medicine needs. The lack of communication/follow up from this practice is really disappointing. They sent my orders to the wrong locations/forgot to send them TWICE, resulting in delay of care. They took over a week to follow up on results, and when they did, they provided less detail than I found on the internet after doing my own research, when this is their speciality. They are hard to get on the phone as others have mentioned. And they will take almost 6 months to send you a bill. Just avoid the headache and go somewhere else. It's unfortunate because in person the staff are all SO nice, but that doesn't make up for incompetence.
