My mother at 92 had been in a couple of nursing homes. Agape was the best there is. The nursing staff is absolutely amazing. The facility is very clean and you never really had oder like some facilities.
My mother was in the active stage of passing and they moved her to a beautiful private room so the whole family could be comfortable and spend our last hours with her.. The compassion and love for their patients goes above and beyond. I will always grateful to Agape.

A few years back I got a phone call from the social worker there asking for my son. She wanted permission for my ex husband to be able to be cremated, when the time came, without any objection.

After this, I began to think about my ex, and wondered, giving his lifestyle choices, if he even had anyone in his life who cared about him in any way. You see, he'd never met our son, who was in his late 40's by this time. And I knew my ex's 3 nephews had no idea of his whereabouts because though they'd also been estranged from us, they'd called hoping we might know how to contact their uncle a couple of years before this because they also hadn't known anything about his life in recent years. So now, I wondered, did he have anyone at all who thought about him in his old age? Anyone who even called to say hello? And of personal importance to me, anyone who cared where he was going after he met his maker?

So, now knowing where he was, I started trying to call him. Each time I called, I was met with excuses. "He's laying down" was what I heard at all hours of any given day. Do they honestly just leave him laying in his bed all day, every day? I was told that yes, they actually do. Occasionally I heard, "He's eating". Only once did I manage to speak to him, and that was after literal months of trying.

I find it laughable, the notations on your website, "Short-term or long-term, you'll see lifelong results.", and "Promoting independence and well being." Really? When a nurse or an aid can't even be bothered to get a patient to the phone to hear a voice that is reaching out to give them a bit of company from outside? No one can really be bothered? I'm amazed. I tried calling people who might be able to help me get through, but still got zero results. I called his nephews, but unless I miss my guess, no one has bothered to make any real contact, because that's how this family rolls. I guess he has "caregivers", and I'm sure no one is abusive, physically, but how about mentally? Even in his obvious mental decline, one, I might add, that is sadly of his own making, he still should be able to hear from someone who cares whether he lives or dies, other than those whose job it is to see to his physical needs, and apparently only as much as is absolutely necessary.

To say I'm disgusted is an understatement. The people there might think they are doing a good job, but in point of fact, the job they are doing is lazy because they are doing only what they must and not caring about ever seeing to the needs of the soul and of the mind, who's needs are great. I have to wonder, when those people's times come, and they are the ones in need, will people be too much in a hurry, too lazy to bother, doing just enough to say they are fed, and clean, but leaving the mind and soul starving? I pray not. But what goes around does seem to come around... Doesn't it?

Our family is extremely dissatisfied with the care/services from this business! Lack of bathing our Dad, cleaning his urinal container, dirty bathrooms, unsanitary facilities are forcing us to relocate him as soon as possible. Although the facility makes an initial good impression, apparently they are understaffed or some other inexcusable reason for neglecting a patients basic needs.

I am only giving 3 stars due to the nursing staff who where wonderful. My sister has a host of food allergies that were ignored by the kitchen and adminstrative staff. This is inexcusable. You would think that for a so called 5 star faciliy they would at least have made sure that my sister had proper food. Instead the either gave her food with the allergens in it or would not feed her at all. Again, inexcusable. Now that my sister is home we have to deal with the consequences of thier ignorance of her care. Please be careful if you or a !oved one is in Agape and you have food allergies for the food staff ignores your allergies at your expense.

Great environment, was jus opening when we toured for our family member through the facility. Will be anxious to go back through once again before we take another tour before making our final choice. The down town area seemed like it could be sketchy but alot of those on the streets were retired vets or homeless. I never felt afraid nor did my family member would just ensure they had a peer or friend if walking outside the gates stea. Otherwise the amenities were great and something anyone retiring would love to have be apart of some of the best and last parts of their lives. I only seen a couple of staff that wasn't too open and friendly but 95 percent were nothing but hospitable the entire time. Good Luck n God Bless!

Probably the worst nursing home in the Tricities area. Nasty , food is terrible, it is always cold and not enough food. Patients not kept as clean as they should be. Not enough staff and you could wait an hour or more for your buzzer to be answered.
