I had a surgery on my right arm back in 2010 from a work injury where they moved my ulnar nerve oddly. Last year 2022 I had to redo that surgery and have a double surgery to control movement of my fingers. I have a therapist (Sydney) who is amazing! I have started feeling movement & strengthening of muscles that have been dormant for years! I finally believe I will regain the use of my right arm and hand thanks to the staff at Bay Physical Therapy! I would suggest this talented staff to any patient with injuries because they care.

I try not to write negative reviews, but I have to write this review.
My physical therapist who was visiting me at home due to surgery, recommended a therapist at this location, because home visit coverage had ended. I made an appointment and asked for the person my therapist had recommended, and I was told his first appointment was in 2 or 3 weeks, which I accepted. I went to the appointment with difficulty and arrived 10 minutes earlier. I was given the paperwork to fill out, etc. After over 20 minutes or so, another therapist comes out tells me her name, and says she will be working with me. Surprised, I asked will I be working with her or the therapist with whom I had made the appointment?. She replied: with her, so I answered, I made the appointment with the other therapist, and I want to work with him. She asked why! After a few minutes of back and forth, I said you should have informed me that the other therapist was not available. In fact, because of the surgery, my mobility is limited due to surgery and hence the need for physical therapy. So it is important that the therapist is recommended by people I know.
Whether they forgot to inform me that they were switching therapists, or they assumed they can switch without informing, it is disrespecting people’s time and well-being.
Even though the therapist called me to talk to me after I left, and said that he thought someone had called me to inform me (which obviously did not happen), after this experience, I will not return to this place. This was close to me, but there are many other physical therapists in town.
Please do not respond that you are sorry. Sorry does not bring back my wasted time with the state of health I am in.

I got assigned to a therapist that I can only describe as rude, condescending, and unnecessarily rough. Others in the staff were nice and so were the facilities. I stopped PT after a handful of sessions with this therapist, as asking to get reassigned to a different one would’ve made things awkward. I’ll use a different PT facility from now on.

Couldn’t be more pleased with bay physical therapy! The therapists have been amazing all around. The staff in general is amazing. I’ve gained knowledge along with exercises to help manage my chronic discomfort with my neck and shoulders. I’ve been able to go from pain everyday to only occasional pain and discomfort. Always flexible with appointment times as well and as a mom of four and business owner that is very important to me. I highly recommend bay physical therapy.

I was assigned to Shelly after my hip surgery, and, unfortunately, her schedule was not able to accommodate mine, so my post-surgery treatment was sporadic at best. I did not get a sense that the staff or owner cared about me as an individual; rather I was just another piece on the assembly line with treatment often being left to 'support staff'. When I had issues with my insurance/claims payment and called Bay PT to resolve it today, Cristina, could not have been ruder. She refused to hear my concern, and when I tried, multiple times to describe what I hoped BPT could do to resolve it, Cristina was heard to say to someone in the background, "She (being me) is not listening at all" several times. If you want to be treated like a cog on an assembly line, Bay PT is for you; if not, seek treatment elsewhere.

I recently started treatment at Bay Physical Therapy & Fitness Center, after having surgery at CHOMP to replace my C 5/6 vertebrae with a titanium artificial disc. I had been experiencing severe back, neck, and hip pain with frequent numbness in my hands and feet since 2013. These symptoms were caused by two separate parachute training accidents, which occurred while I was serving as a paratrooper in Fort Bragg, NC.
Where do I begin? The front desk/office staff at Bay Physical Therapy are some of the nicest and most caring people that I have had the pleasure of working with. The facility is very nice and clean, and they create a wonderfully pleasurable and relaxing environment. The front desk staff was great in helping me build out my appointment schedule in advance, and have been kind and flexible when I needed to change a few appointment times around. Their customer service, quite frankly, is amazing.
I am still early in my treatment, but I have been seen by both Travis and Shelley. Shelley is an absolutely amazing woman. She was fun to talk to, we chatted about our families, nature, and the best ways for me to reduce my pain. She gave me a wonderful deep tissue massage that was relaxing, and really helped to reduce my pain level. She was even joking with me saying, "These hands have a lot of years of experience." She gave me a lot of good advice regarding things I needed to do at home to keep my pain level under control. My average pain is usually 7-9 on a 10 scale. I have had horrible chronic pain since those two bad C-130 jumps 2013, and this is the first time in years that I have gone home pain free with the chance to get a good nights sleep.
Travis is equally amazing. He is new to the area, I believe he moved to Monterey about a year ago. He is from a town I used to live in located in the Midwest, and we have had some fun chatting and reminiscing about life back in good ole' fly-over country. Travis holds a doctorate degree in physical therapy, so you know you are getting world class physical therapy care in his hands.
My overall experience so far at Bay Physical Therapy has been wonderful. I would recommend this office to anyone in need of physical therapy treatment. My wife has recently gone through a battle with breast cancer, and with my surgery and injury I have been going through a very hard time. Neck/spine surgery can be a career ending prospect for those of us who are serving in the military. I finally am begining to be confident that I can recover and become deploy-able again. Travis and Shelley both accept Tricare, which isn't the norm in Monterey. Their commitment to excellence and to the military is truly commendable. If you are hesitant to seek physical therapy, I will assure you this is the place to go. I am hopeful that I will be able to stay in the military now, and at lot less worried about the future. Travis and Shelley, have "cracked the code" regarding my pain, something surgeons, MD's, and chiropractors have been unable to do. Thank you to all of the staff of Bay Physical Therapy for really improving my overall quality of life, and helping me to reduce and even eliminate my chronic pain.

Been going for about a month for post second shoulder surgery, Travis has far and away been the best physical therapist in terms of knowledge, ability, and actual progress in the long year it's been since tearing my shoulder apart.
