As a company run by women and nurses I am saddened to say my self esteem and confidence has been shattered by First Impressions BEDFORD.

I am a nurse and sustained a face injury one day prior to my first ever Botox injection into my forehead. I explained to my injector as well as the owner / NP that I had swelling and was worried it would affect my results. They both said, “it shouldn’t” and continued to discuss going forward. I am a nurse and wanted to trust that they knew what they were doing and were being truthful with their experience and knowledge pertaining to this question. I had saved up for 6 months and wasn’t worried about a $9 vs. $10 injection. I was there to pay for what I wanted. So I let my injector talk me into the $10 Botox of course. I paid $444 plus tip.

2 weeks later at my follow up, I let my injector know I wasn’t happy with my results as my eyebrows were depressed in the middle and, “spawking” at the ends. My wrinkles were still very much there and had full movement.

The injector seemed surprised at why the Botox didn’t take. I asked if my swelling contributed to this and was told no. I asked if this was common and was told no. Great just my luck I thought. So she decided we would inject another 20 units ($220) into my elevens. I have been told that most places don’t charge on follow ups if you require more injections, but I thought well 20 units is a lot so maybe that’s why. I, as a first time Botox user trusted my injector. Mid injection she told me she was going to try and attempt a different technique and hoped it would work.

I waited and waited and became more unhappy with my face as time went on.

I do want to make it clear I told my injector I had a very important family wedding to attend in August and I had waited almost a year and saved for over 6 months to be able to get this done.

After 3 weeks I decided I would try and call with my dissatisfaction and see what options are on the table for me. After being told by the reception there is nothing they can do I said thank you but was not done talking and was initially hung up on.

Over the course of the next 3 weeks I phoned about 6 times spoke to the management finally and was told nothing we can do. I understand there may not have been any more injecting options for me but the way they brushed me off and were like sucks to be you type attitude did not sit well. I asked several times to speak to Deb, the NP and owner. After phoning many times I did miss ONE call from her and immediately called back as her voice mail said call this number I’m available with yet again no answer.

I phoned again 2 days ago and I have decided to just post the review and move on from this. So Deb if you’re reading this it’s way too late to reach out. I’ve been told far too late that all you care about is money and it’s apparent you aren’t in the business to uplift women. So I have full movement, most wrinkles back, two lumpy looking fluid filled bumps above my eyebrows and my eyebrows are jacked up on the ends and depressed into the centre of my nose.

I spent over $750 at their practice including tip over the 2 weeks. If Botox resistance or a bad injection is rare you would think a nurse and woman owned company would at least offer a phone call back and an apology.

So now I will sadly be in lifetime photos with wrinkles and spawked eyebrows looking worse than I did before I went into see them.

I held off writing this because I still wanted to give them an opportunity but 2 months later is not how the beauty industry works!

I personally wouldn’t want to gamble $750, which is what you are doing if you choose First Impressions. I am compassionate to the work they do and the risks we all take when doing these things. I wasn’t asking for money back or an antidote to fix my face. All I was asking for was an apology and a bit more information from the nurse practitioner.

So to anyone considering First Impressions I promise you it’s not worth the gamble, anxiety or mental health hit.

Last year it was pointed out to me that I was starting to thin out pretty badly at the crown of my head (genetic trait with age). I consulted with the professionals at First Impressions and had a PRP (plasma rich platelet) treatment performed. I am overjoyed and amazed with the results and am attaching pictures, before first treatment, 3 months later after second treatment and 6 months later. The thing that amazes me is that by using part of my own body (blood) they were able to stimulate my hair follicles to rejuvenate and start growing hair again. Everything was clearly explained in my consult. VERY happy with the results.
