We had a set of 3 newborn mice under one of our cars and looked to seek help from Flint Creek especially after being recommended by an Illinois Wildlife professional. We followed instructions and sent them an informed text. We received responses but they were very vague — telling us to keep the mice in a box outside even after we told FC they had been there for multiple hours — and they didn’t seem interested in actually helping us. All of the mice ended up passing hours after as we had no way to feed them.

Found a young squirrel that got abandoned by his mother. It kept following me and crawled on my leg.

I reached out to Flint Creek VIA Facebook and learned that texting is the best method of communication. Dawn was able to get back with me and I was able to drop off the lil guy the next day. I am thankful they were able to get in touch with me and so quickly.

Such an awesome, easy and helpful experience! She is very knowledgeable and caring.

A tip from my experience:
Don't text more than once, you will be replied to in order of message received. If you continue to text, your message goes to the end of the queue.

Regardless, responses are timely and informative. Highly recommend this rehab facility and I am saving her number to my contacts! ?

Unfortunately I had to actually give them a star. The encounter I had with one of the individuals there was terrible. I went over to the address listed for them, when the individual came out she was rude . I only asked if I was at flint creek to be told very rudely that I need an appointment without even knowing if I was at the right place. The individual didn't know if I had an animal or not, I could have been there to donate and/or volunteer. I did try contacting them the day before several times, just to be ignored. I will have to say after the rudeness, as I was getting back in the car I advised the individual that they should return phone calls. I realize she was taking care of the animals but there is no excuse for her behavior. Based on my first impression I would never consider taking ANY animals, or donating. In my opinion it deserves a -5 stars.

I have called Flint Creek on several occasions , each time, Dawn came prepared for every rescue situation I informed her about, from Pelican to Sandhill Crane, she came with full knowledge of the best way to rescue the animals and handle them in each situation. I got an update once they were assessed. I would trust flint creek with every wild life rescue

Dawn was so incredibly helpful when I came to drop off a baby squirrel I had found. She made me feel better about the safety of the poor little animal. I know the little baby will be in good hands!

I brought a badly injured baby robin to Flint Creek. I really appreciated Dawn's immediate response and willingness to help. I could see she was extremely busy and beyond inundated with injured and orphaned animals—there was a line of cars dropping off animals when I dropped off the baby bird! Dawn was very friendly and informative. I received an update about the bird a few months later, which was very nice. Please support this organization! They are doing wonderful things!!

I found a baby mouse (eyes still closed) in the front part of my car's siding, and Flint Creek do not take wild mice but they gave me a number for a place that could! Very convenient as well, as you can also text the number they provide and they will get back to you (took about 20 mins and I got a response). Such a wonderful thing they are doing!
