I went to the clinic to check on a lingering cough. I waited for over six hours (after getting there an hour before they opened) and had the doctor spend 30 seconds listening to my chest over my sweatshirt (with multiple layers underneath) and say my chest was clear. I went to a different clinic afterwards and was diagnosed with pneumonia and needed antibiotics and a puffer. I would avoid this clinic at all costs, they are incompetent and disorganized.

I visited this clinic twice so far. First time I waited for 1:30h and the doctor examined me for less than one minute. I described all my symptoms to him: dizziness, headaches, vertigo and nausea. He then gave me a prescription for ten days of medication. I felt much better after this treatment, however I needed to do a follow-up consultation because I still have vertigo everything I lay down and move my head. I never had this before and I need a diagnostic… The doctor doesn’t want to refer me to a specialist. I’m still worried without knowing what I have. Is it labyrinthitis or not? At least the receptionist there is friendly and caring. And the place is organized, clean and renovated.

Here are the facts of what happened today (August 27, 2024):

1) I drove from Antigonish this morning at 6am. Arrived at the clinic at 8am and there were about 10 people waiting outside. Clinic was unexpectedly closed for the morning shift and would open at 1pm for the afternoon shift (according to a sign on the door)

2) A gentleman (one of the patients waiting outside) offered to write down everyone's arrival order. Yes, the patients themselves having to organize this. I was number 13 and wrote down my name on the numbered list.

3) The receptionisy opened the door at 1pm.

4) Several people who arrived around 12:30pm (and whose arrival order was 34 or more) skipped the line.

5) Several people complained but receptionist (who just opened the door) announced that she did not care about what previous ordering there was and that she would just proceed to hand out 15 numbers (only 15 people would be seen by the doctor she announced) based on the order in the current line.

6) I was number 15 (would have been number 13 if some people did not skip he line, proof of this was in the numbered list, receptionist did not care about this).

7) I chose to give my turn to a mom who was number 16 but with a young kid (I myself am a father of a 6 yeat old and have been in similat situations in the past and I know that it is just the right thing to do).

7) I spoke with the receptionist about whay transpired. She insisted that she did not care about the fact that I was there at 8am and coming from Antigonish (no walk on clinics in Antigonish), nor did she care to look at the numbered or to ask the others for confirmation, etc. She simply did not care aboit it.

8) I asked if it would be possible to be first in line tomorrow when the clinic opens at 8:30am. She replied that what happened today was irrelevant to her and that I would need to be there tomorrow at 6am waiting in line until 8:30am if I wanted to make sure that I would be seen tomorrow. I mentioned again (in a very polite and reapectful manner) that I would have to start driving from Antigonish at 6am again tomorrow. She replied that, as she has said already, she simply does not care and that what happened today is completely irrelevant to her

Those are the objective facts of what happened today. Make your own judgment.

The wait time was so long. You need to be there at least 2 hours before the clinic time. But the doctor was really nice. He explained things even though it was a pretty busy day.

The wait time is exhausting but that is the fault of our healthcare system. The staff are all friendly and my doctor didn’t rush me, he was very helpful. Complaints of wait times should be turned to our provincial government. These employees are only human. They are doing their best.

Worst experience , the Indian receptionist mismanaged distribution of tokens for Walk in clinic I waited with my 2 year daughter for one and Half hours and she gave tokens to people who walked in after me and top of it she has audacity to tell me that I cannot stand here the whole time, than she should have written names when people approached the reception or given tokens there and then. Very poor management.

Went for a check up and the doctor disregarded our concerns and technically rushed us out without even having a look at the concern and offering physical exam. Clerk gave us tube for a sample and we have never get a call back about the results. We paid 100 dollars for nothing. Very unprofessional

i wanted to get a refill for my pills but unfortunately the Spring Garden clinic was already full. I spoke with "Jennifer" who told me the clinic on Joseph Howe would most likely see me as the doctor sees many patients there. She also suggested I could get an extension refill at the pharmacy I filled my original prescription at. Jennifer was so kind, friendly and helpful.

i did go to the other clinic and got my prescription filled. The doctor was quick and the girls at the reception desk were equally as friendly and helpful as Jennifer but I didn't get their names.

I highly recommend Family Focus, Excellent service all around,
